The man towards the back of this picture circled in red is Eliezer Wiesel, better known as Elie. Winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, Holocaust survivor and distinguished author of the novel Night. He was forced into Aushwitz, the most notorious Nazi concentration camp at a very early age and was forced to become more of an adult in a few long years than most people do in their entire lives. He not only had to support himself during this time (which many could not do) he had to support his father who was sick and old, until his father eventually died and he lived on to do great things.
this picture reminds me of the part of the story when the man is telling Elie to not worry about his father and that instead of sharing his ration, he should have taken his fathers.

These are children at a Nazi concentration camp. The picture has been taken by Russia's red army moments before liberating the camp. Jewish children who miraculously passed selection faced a much harder time than they're fellow inmates. This picture shows a group of older kids i'd say teens who are waiting for liberation as they have been for so long. This picture reminds me of the prisoners at birkenau who were waiting for the new inmates and were angry that they had arrived

This picture depicts a mass grave at one of the nazi's death camps, probably aushwitz. Most people would think that this is a horrible atrocity and that must be an entire camp int he grave but in reality this picture pales in comparison to the vast amount of people that died at the hands of the third reich. This picture is memorable because most people only see a few dead people in their life and most of those are at funerals but these prisoners saw this kind of death and pain on a daily basis. So much so that it became routine for them
